At the SIMS Foundation, Volunteers Rock!

SIMS Volunteers Rock! is a new volunteer program to support our many activities. SIMS is seeking 25-30 dedicated and enthusiastic Central Texans to rock all kinds of music events, mix it up at the office, get the word out, and to have fun doing it!

Leading the charge with SIMS Volunteers Rock! is Catarina Sigerfoos, the Volunteer Coordinator for the foundation's new effort. Sigerfoos is from San Antonio where she worked in the music scene including being a proprietor of a rock music venue. She now lives in Austin, and spends her time managing bands and devoting time to the SIMS Foundation. Proclaiming her immersion in the music world, Catarina comments, "I am related to 15 musicians! Bury me in a coffin-shaped guitar case."

SIMS Volunteers Rock! Here's how:

• BE A GROUPIE - Be front and center at shows all over town, telling people about SIMS and getting them involved
• PLUG IN - Make connections that will make it all possible by identifying and helping to secure potential donors to SIMS
• ROCK THE OFFICE - See how it works and lend your expertise by helping out at SIMS headquarters
• MAKE IT HAPPEN - Make SIMS' services possible by applying your grant-writing skills for a great cause
• GO CLUBBING - Join the SIMS Street Team and get the word out by taking communications to venues where musicians will see them
• STAGE THE BIG SHOW - Use that big brain of yours to help plan the next big SIMS fundraising event (and those big muscles to help pull it off)
